Go Camping! Experience the special joys and natural beauty of the great outdoors.

For very little cost you can camp in natural surrounding, savouring the unique smells of the Queensland bush.  See Australian Animals in their natural setting, boil a billy, get close to nature, and get away from it all.

Glendon Camping Grounds is located 38Kms west of Warwick on the Cunningham Highway, approximately 2 and a half hours from Brisbane.

Our camping area is nestled along Thanes Creek which runs through the 1600 Acre property.

Whether you prefer home comforts like tap water and hot showers, or like to rough it away from the crowd, we have a campsite to suit your needs.

Our camp sites  are so large, everyone is able to enjoy their privacy. Each site has its own stone fireplace, with BBQ plate, also suitable for camp oven cooking. All campsites have easy access to hot showers (wood fired), flushing toilets and are two wheel drive accessible.

On-site caravans are also available, accommodating from 2 to 6 people. The on-site caravans also have their own stone fireplace.

We offer a great range of activities ranging from:

Camping

Remember the smell of that first campfire, your first flame grilled sausage, and your first night under the stars?

Privacy is ensured, and with all of the amenities close on hand, getting away from it all in comfort has never been easier.

A combination of powered and un-powered sites are available, or alternatively we have on-site caravans available, accommodating for 2 - 6 people.

Four Wheel Driving

Four wheel driving and trail bike riding are welcome at Glendon. Come and experience the trap rock terrain.

Fishing

Glendon Dam provides freshwater fishing and is a private relaxing environment. Glendon Dam is populated with native species including yellow belly, jew and golden perch. Your are welcome to keep and cook any legal size fish that you catch.

Canoeing on Glendon Dam is another favourite way to spend a relaxing day.

Bush Walking

With 1600 Acres, there is an almost endless number of bush walks through a wide range of scenery.  Take the time to see Australian Wildlife in it's natural habitat.

Some of our birdlife includes Rainbow Lorikeet, Cockatoo, Eagles, Ibis, Australian King Parrot, Wrens, and Kookaburra to name just a few, so bring your binoculars.

Golf

We have a 9 hole golf course available, with club hire as well.  Do feel free to bring your own clubs as well.

Gold Panning

Gold was first found on Thanes Creek in 1860, and the Thanes Creek Gold Fields joins partly to many other gold fields in the area.  There is a rich and often heart breaking history to be told about those early prospectors who toiled in these isolated fields, often for most of their lives.

So why not try your hand at panning for gold during your stay. We have all the equipment on hand, and you get to keep whatever you find!!
